Current Projects: January 2013

We are currently working with two schools on garden designs that will incorporate both perennial and annual edible plants into the educational landscape.  Theses spaces will function as outdoor classrooms and will be used to fur­ther develop environmental education curriculum.  The curriculum at these schools will include, but not be limited to: harvesting food, saving seeds and growing plants for the arts and science projects.  We are really excited to be a part of these important projects and we hope they can help inspire more school...

Fall Crops

Fall Crops

As always, we are working on new garden projects including some raised beds, arbors and trellises!  Lots of time focusing on preparing for fall crops.  We have been seeding and preparing lots of fall Brassicas (broccoli, cabbage, kale, etc) for transplanting and are direct seeding fall root crops like carrots and beets in all of our gardens.   Share on Facebook

Madrona K-8

We are helping Madrona K-8 School with their 2,000 square foot school garden by setting up raised beds, doing general clean-up and setting up a drip irrigation system to keep the garden thriving during school vacations. Sushi Kappo Tamura and Ravish

We recently began construction on our newest rooftop restaurant farm to be shared by Sushi Kappo Tamura and Ravish on Eastlake. We have worked with the chefs and bartenders of these two delicious restaurants to come up with a list of crops that we will be growing to supplement their produce needs. Keep an eye out for super fresh, hyper-local ingredients on their menus starting in just a few weeks. The photo to the left shows the construction process, in which we are transforming a large ornamental garden into a prime veggie growing...
