Home vegetable gardens don’t need to be overly complex to be beautiful. In this seminar Colin McCrate and Brad Halm, co-authors of Food Grown Right, In Your Backyard, share their unique approach to urban edible garden design. They will show examples of small, medium, and large urban edible gardens and discuss the decisions made while designing and constructing each garden. Some important topics covered: determining best sun exposure, locating beneficial micro-climates, sizing the garden, choosing a garden shape for aesthetics, ease of care, and access, and selecting appropriate materials. At the end of the seminar, attendees will be well equipped to plan and execute their own vegetable garden!
