Raised Bed Garden Kits (Prices Listed Below)
We are now selling custom pre-fabricated raised bed kits for your garden. These unique kits lock together, making them incredibly easy to set up. They require no bolts, screws, or nails and most people find that they can assemble one of these beds in about 10 minutes! The kits were designed by the Seattle Urban Farm Company Staff and are made right here in Seattle. We have started using these beds in our garden projects and they are now available for your own home project. We make the beds from a variety of lumber types so you can choose the wood that matches your budget and the aesthetics of your yard. Choose from Hem-Fir, Cedar or rough-cut Juniper.
All Beds Are: 4′ x 8′ x 13″
Hem-Fir beds are the least expensive option, but may break down more quickly than the other, more rot-resistant wood types. ($175)
Cedar beds are a more expensive option, but they should last up 10 years or more in the landscape and they look great. ($275)
Juniper beds are built with “rough-cut” lumber, so they have a more rustic look and since juniper is also a naturally rot-resistant wood, like cedar, they should last for years. ($275)
All beds are coated with a food-safe wood sealant that is reputed to double the outdoor life of the lumber! The product is made in Oregon and has been designed for use on food producing raised beds
Low-Maintenance Poultry Water Bar ($59.99)
Keeping a constant supply of clean water for your chickens seems like it should be easy, but if you are a home chicken farmer, you probably already know that most small-flock water containers require daily (or twice daily) cleaning and re-filling. Your birds don’t hesitate to stir up dirt, poop and/or food into an open water dish and hanging containers often spill out the sides or just run out of water too quickly. If you want to leave home for the weekend, you may need to wrangle up a chicken sitter just to keep up with the flock’s water needs.
Because, just like you, we are tired of cleaning out chicken water dishes every day…we have developed a new, low-maintenance chicken water drinker that eliminates these problems and provides your birds with a steady supply of clean water. Simply hang the water bucket on the coop or somewhere nearby, run the drip line inside the coop, fill the bucket and you’re ready to go! Our water bar has a 3-gallon capacity and is made from food-safe UV resistant plastics. Fill up the bucket, snap on the lid and your birds should have enough water to last anywhere from 3-10 days.
