Garden Coaching

Our garden coaching program provides personalized guidance to help you make the most of your garden.


Option A: The Plan + Prep Package

During this one-time visit, one of our lead farmers will meet with you in your garden to perform a comprehensive overview of your site, and create a plan to help you make the most of your growing space.

  • 1 hour in-person garden visit and consultation*, which includes the following:

    • Sun reading 

    • pH reading

    • Site and soil texture evaluation**

    • Address your specific garden questions and concerns 

    • Help decide which crops will grow best in your garden

    • Soil preparation and amendment recommendations 

  • Custom garden map with recommended crop layout

  • Custom planting calendar

  • Written summary of consultation notes and recommendations 

  • Digital resource packet (19 pages)

    • Vegetable planting guide 

    • Vegetable fertilization guide 

    • Pest and disease management guide 

    • Harvesting guide 

* We must be able to access the garden from outside, masks and 6 ft distancing required at all times. 
**We will provide you with a link to a lab that can provide you with a full nutrient evaluation for your soil.
***This is NOT a landscape design service. We’d be happy to help you lay out new annual vegetable garden beds, and provide suggestions for the layout of berries and fruit trees, but this work could incur additional design time costs.


Investment:

  • Initial in-person coaching visit, and all listed deliverables: $525, paid at the time of scheduling

    • This price assumes you have an existing garden on site. If you’d like help determining the location and arrangement of new garden beds, this may require additional design time, usually 1-3 hours, billed at $90 per hour

  • Follow-up in-person visit, no deliverables: $185, paid at the time of scheduling




Option B: The Q+A Package  

One of our lead farmers will meet with you on site to address specific questions you have, identify pest and disease issues, share harvest tips, and provide advice on how you can improve your vegetable garden.

  • 1 hour in-person garden visit and consultation, which includes the following:

    • Sun reading 

    • pH reading

    • Site and soil texture evaluation*

    • Address your specific vegetable garden questions and concerns

  • Digital resource packet (19 pages)

    • Vegetable planting guide 

    • Vegetable fertilization guide 

    • Pest and disease management guide 

  • Harvesting guide 

*We will provide you with a link to a lab that can provide you with a full nutrient evaluation for your soil.

Investment:

  • Initial in-person maintenance coaching visit, and all listed deliverables: $225, paid at the time of scheduling

  • Follow-up in-person visit, no deliverables: $185, paid at the time of scheduling

Q: Will you bring plants to the visit?

A: No, these visits do not include any plant material or soil amendments. If you’re interested in our crew planting and maintaining your vegetable garden throughout the growing season, please email hilary@seattleurbanfarmco.com and she’ll provide you with more information on our Garden Maintenance service.

Q: What is your service range for Garden Coaching?

A: Our range for Garden Coaching is a little different than our range for other services we provide. Please see the green highlighted area on the map here for our Garden Coaching range.  If your garden falls outside of this range, feel free to email us for a price quote.

Q: How quickly will I receive my garden plan and other resources after my Garden Coaching session?

A: We put a lot of time and thought in your custom resources so we need a few days to create them for you. All resources will be sent within one week of your visit.
